Client: “We LOVE the images! Can we order a wedding album too?”
You: “Of course, I can get you a beautiful handcrafted wedding album!”
Also you: (Now what?)
If you are accustomed to a digital-only delivery, you might be caught off guard when a client asks you for a professional wedding album. Maybe you always wanted to offer wedding albums, but you really don’t know where to start. No worries, we’ve got you covered! This blog, Professional Wedding Albums 101, is your guide to albums, made easy.
Picking out a Product
-
Step 1: Offer the Lustre Book.
First things first. Choose an album type. Zookbinders offers four unique wedding album styles. Just pick one! This is your first rodeo so keep it simple. The Lustre Book is a go-to for many professional photographers It is a flush mount album with white pages and a contemporary style.
-
Step 2: Let the client choose a 10×10 OR 12×12 Lustre Book.
The luster book is available in square sizes: 8×8, 10×10, or 12×12. The most popular size is 10×10. It’s nice to have options…but not too many.
-
Step 3: Show 2 cover options: Full Leather Cover with Imprinting OR Leather Spine with Photo Cover. Standard Leather options are Black, Ivory, or Blue.
The Zookbinders Lustre Book comes with a photo wrap cover. It’s really nice for everything except a wedding. You’ve got to go to the next level; full leather or leather spine with a photo cover. These are two great choices to start off with. If your client has something special in mind, they’ll let you know, otherwise don’t confuse them. You can be more creative once you get this first order under your belt.
There are over 30 leather and fabric colors for the Luster Book. You can pick three to start. The most popular leather color for albums is black, so that is a sure thing. If you have trouble picking two others try ivory and blue.
-
Step 4: Offer 50 images in the basic album with an option to upgrade to 75.
Concerned about the number of pages? Don’t be. Page count is all going to be determined by the number of images in the album. More details will be covered in Professional Wedding Albums 2.0 – next week.
What are we looking at here?
At this point in the professional wedding album game, you probably do not have sample albums on hand. Keep in mind the choices you have made thus far would be perfect options for samples so you might want to order one once you finish with your client’s project. Zookbinders sample albums are 50% off.
If you don’t have anything to show your clients feel free to download our product info sheets HERE. They can be edited to show just the products that you are wanting to offer to your clients. You can also reach out to customer service for sample leather swatches.
Are you ready to try this?
“Of course, you can get a beautiful handcrafted wedding album. My favorite product is this Keepsake Album (We’re talking about the Lustre Book here but call it whatever you want.) It is available in 10×10 or 12×12. You have a choice of a full leather cover with your names and date imprinted or, a leather spine and large cover photo. Leather choices are black, ivory, or blue, which is really popular this year.
I like the Keepsake because it’s a flush mount album with beautiful panoramic spreads. Albums come with 50 images or you can upgrade to 75. Here’s what the wedding albums look like.”
