Template Instructions for Creating a Proof Book
To begin, please make sure you have all the images you want in the proof book saved in a file folder.
1.) Open up Photoshop and go to File > Automate > Contact Sheet II, and an options box will pop up.
2.) Please enter the following information into the fields. This will help you build the proper format for the pages of your proof book.

Please follow the instructions for the following sections in the Contact Sheet II Box:
Source Images:
Please select the folder where you have all your images saved by clicking on browse and choosing your folder of saved images.
Document Section:
Units: Select 'inches'
**Note: The Proof Book will only be offered in sizes 12x12 Square and 12x9 Horizontal.**
Width: Type in the width of your book
Height: Type in the height of your book
Resolution: Please type in 300, then choose 'pixels/inch'
Check the box marked 'Flatten All Layers'
Mode: Select 'RGB Color'
Thumbnails Section:
Place: This will determine how the images are laid out, please choose 'across first'
Leave the box unchecked for 'Use Auto-Spacing'
Columns: Type in '4'
Rows: If you are creating a 12x12 Square, please type in '4'; if 12x9 Horizontal, please type in '3'.
Vertical: Type in '0.25 in'
Horizontal: Type in '0.25 in'
Filename:
Please check the box that reads 'Use Filename as Caption'
Font: Choose 'arial'
Font Size: '10pt'
3.) Once you have completed all the fields, hit 'OK'.
4.) Do not panic. You will see a series of flashes on the screen. This is your contact sheet automating. Notice the hourglass, this may take a few moments.
5.) Once the automation has been completed, you will see your contact sheets have been generated using the files from your saved folder of images. The created contact sheet pages will automatically save as .PSD files. Please be sure that you flatten the files by going to Layer > Flatten Image and save each as a Level 10, 300 dpi JPEGS.
6.) Please have these saved into its own separate folder.
