5 Creative Ideas for Photographer Marketing

Creative Marketing | Zookbinders Custom Albums

When it comes to marketing your professional custom photo albums business, it can be challenging to come up with fresh ideas on how your custom photo albums will  stand out amongst the client crowd. Your marketing ideas don’t need to be expensive, but they do need to be creative! Here are a few ideas to get the creative juices flowing! Giveaways are always a great idea. People LOVE free things! Start by hosting a giveaway on social media sites like Facebook. Maybe even boost your post on to gather a larger crowd of entrants within your area. You can create a contest asking for each entrant to provide their email and phone number. After a winner has been chosen, you now have an entire list of possible clients who might be interested in your professional custom photo albums business whom you can send email marketing to. Custom business cards can be created from a senior shoot as a way for the senior to give away a few extra pictures to her friends, and a way for you to advertise to each person she gives a card to. After the shoot, create a small amount of cards from the best image, to give to the senior for free, allowing for them to do the marketing for you. Of course this idea doesn’t have to only be for seniors either. Want to get noticed at a popular wedding venue? Create samples of wedding albums and show off some great wedding album designs along with extra business cards then drop them off at local venues in your area. A lot of times brides ask for recommendations, and venues will happily show them your sample wedding albums. Attend a wedding fair. Setting up a booth at a wedding fair is sure to get you noticed. Make sure to show off your best wedding album samples to give these potential clients a good idea of your style. Wedding fairs are a great place to get noticed, and many of them offer inexpensive booth rentals.

Charity shoots are another great option. You can donate your custom photo albums design services at a local event, in return for being able to hand out business cards or brochures. This may also be a great place to handout something for that giveaway.

Zucker founded Zookbinders in 1995 and is passionate about helping photographers attract more clients, make more money, and spend less time in post-production. He was raised in the pro photography business (his father founded Capri Album) and remembers attending trade shows as a kid (he was more of a nuisance than a contributor).
